Android is the most flexible platform for StrimoIPTV. This guide covers Android TV and Google TV sets (Sony, TCL, Philips, Hisense Google TV), streaming boxes such as the NVIDIA Shield, Chromecast with Google TV and Xiaomi Mi Box, and Android phones and tablets. The login is the same on all of them; only the way you install the player differs.
Which player to use
| Device | Best player | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Android TV / Google TV / Shield | TiviMate | Cable-style guide grid, fast channel zapping, recording on supported setups |
| Android TV boxes (generic) | IPTV Smarters Pro | Simple menus for live TV, films and series in one place |
| Phones and tablets | IPTV Smarters Pro or XCIPTV | Touch-friendly, picture-in-picture, casting |
Your StrimoIPTV line works in every one of them, and you can switch players at any time without changing the line.
Step 1: Install the player
From Google Play
- Open the Google Play Store on the device.
- Search for TiviMate (TV devices) or your chosen player.
- Select Install.
If the player is not listed in your region
- Install Downloader from Google Play.
- Go to Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps and allow Downloader. On some boxes this sits under Security & restrictions.
- Open Downloader, enter the app link we send with your line, and install the file.
Step 2: Add your StrimoIPTV line
In TiviMate
- Open TiviMate and select Add playlist.
- Choose Xtream Codes.
- Enter the server address, username and password from your activation message, then Next.
- Name the playlist “StrimoIPTV” and select Done. The TV guide loads automatically.
In IPTV Smarters Pro or XCIPTV
- Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter any name, then your username, password and server URL.
- Select Add user and wait for the content to load.
Getting the best picture on Android
- Switch the decoder if a channel stutters: in TiviMate, Settings → Playback → Decoder, try Hardware first, then Software.
- Turn on “auto frame rate” on the Shield and Google TV so sport plays at its native 50 or 60 frames per second.
- Keep the box cool and updated. Cheap boxes throttle when hot; system updates often fix playback bugs.
- Wired beats wireless. Most Android TV boxes have an Ethernet port — use it for 4K.
- On phones, use Wi-Fi for long sessions. An hour of HD uses roughly 2 to 3 GB of data.
Common Android problems
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| “App not installed” | Allow unknown apps for Downloader, and free up storage space. |
| TV guide shows “No information” | Update the EPG from the player settings; the first load can take a minute. |
| Picture but no sound | Change the audio output to PCM / stereo in the player or box settings. |
| Freezes every few minutes | Switch decoder, restart the box, and see fixing IPTV buffering. |
