You do not need a stick or a box to watch StrimoIPTV on a Samsung or LG television. Both brands carry IPTV player apps in their own app stores, and once the player is linked to your line the TV behaves like any other channel source. This guide covers Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) sets from roughly 2018 onwards, plus Hisense VIDAA models.
How Smart TV players differ from Firestick or Android
Most Samsung and LG players do not ask for a username and password on the TV itself. Instead each TV gets a MAC address (and sometimes a device key) inside the app, and the playlist is attached to that address on the player’s website. You can do this yourself, or send us the details and we attach your StrimoIPTV line for you.
Most of these players offer a free trial period and then charge a small one-off activation fee to their developer. That fee is separate from your StrimoIPTV plan and is paid once per TV.
Recommended players
| Player | Samsung | LG | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| IBO Player | Yes | Yes | Clean interface, live + films + series, our first choice |
| Smart IPTV (SIPTV) | Some models | Yes | Lightweight, live TV focused, M3U based |
| Net IPTV | Yes | Yes | Simple, good for older sets |
| Flix IPTV | Yes | Yes | Good on-demand browsing |
Samsung: step by step
- Press Home on the remote and open Apps.
- Use the search icon to find IBO Player (or another player from the table) and select Install.
- Open the app. Write down the MAC address and device key shown on screen, or take a photo.
- Send the photo to us on WhatsApp with your plan, or add the playlist yourself on the player’s website using the M3U link from your activation message.
- Close the app completely and reopen it. Your StrimoIPTV channels, films and series appear.
LG: step by step
- Press Home and open the LG Content Store (called Apps on newer webOS versions).
- Search for IBO Player or Smart IPTV and install it.
- Open the app and note the MAC address it displays.
- Send it to us or upload the playlist on the player’s website.
- Restart the app — on LG, hold the Back button or turn the TV off and on.
Hisense VIDAA
Hisense sets running VIDAA have a smaller app store. Look for IBO Player or Smart IPTV in the VIDAA store. If neither is available on your model, a Fire TV Stick or Android TV box plugged into an HDMI port is the quickest route — see the Firestick guide. Hisense models running Google TV instead of VIDAA follow the Android TV guide.
Tips for Smart TV viewing
- Use the TV’s Ethernet port. Built-in TV Wi-Fi is usually weaker than a stick’s.
- Turn off energy-saving modes that drop the network connection when the TV idles.
- Keep the TV firmware updated — player apps often stop working on outdated firmware.
- Older sets (before 2017) may lack a compatible player. A stick or box solves it for little money.
Common Smart TV problems
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| App asks for activation | The player’s own trial has ended; activate it on the developer’s website. |
| Playlist not showing | Check the MAC address was typed correctly, then fully restart the app. |
| Player not in the store | Try another player from the table, or use a Firestick. |
| Picture breaks up | Switch to a cable connection and see fixing IPTV buffering. |
